Career day!
For career day I ended up going to Prime Electrical services to shadow my neighbor who is one of the owners. I chose to shadow him because I could get a grasp of leadership skills and what it's actually like to be in a working environment. I couldn't do a store manager like I planned to because it was memorial weekend and everyone was going on vacation or big sales were happening. I really enjoyed my career day a lot. What I did was learn about electrical things and also about personal communication. During my career day I conducted an interview of 10 question regarding his business and steps to getting to where he is.
1. Did you go to college? If so, what degree(s) did you get?
I got a degree in electrical engineering
2. How did your company start?
With a lot of trying and failing. We went from the bottom to about the top now.
3. If you could go back, what would you change as your job choice?
I'd probably pursue something in politics, i've always been passionate with that.
4. What is the first job you ever had?
I mowed lawn for a while. My first official job was working for my dad in his restaurant.
5. How long have you worked for your company?
For about 10 years.
6. What is the biggest struggle you've had involving your company?
Getting started was a struggle. You had companies that had been around for a while and then the new guys coming in. It was difficult to get any jobs.
7. What is the biggest success you've had involving your company?
The steps leading to where we are now. We did almost everything right and I wouldn't change a thing on how we got here.
8. Do you personally enjoy your job?
I enjoy my job because of what I do and the people I work with.
9. Would you recommend someone todo what you do?
Yes and they should come work for me
10. What's some advice for someone just coming out of college?
Do what you wanna do and don't be too picky on job choice.
