The V for Vendetta project was a very long project or so it felt like it. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy because I liked the book. I thought it unique on how it was a comic book but also the story was just original. After the book we had to write an essay on a thesis we made. My thesis was,"V is the only one brave enough to fight because he isn't afraid of the government and he doesn't care if people get hurt." It was a challenge creating the thesis but also finding supporting arguments. There was plenty evidence to back it up, it was just challenging to find it because I was not used to the comic book type feel. Overall though, I am proud of the essay and did my best job on it!

V for Vendetta Thesis Essay
"I don't have a name. You can call me V" (34). V for Vendetta is a novel based after World War 3. In England a new corrupt government has taken over that no one really likes but doesn't fight back out of fear. One person stands up to them though, his name is V. V is the only one brave enough to fight because he isn't afraid of the government and he doesn't care if people get hurt.
V doesn't care if people get hurt or even die. "He's killed them, Dominic. Everyone who worked at Larkhill camp." (72). This was said by a man who works for the government that V is trying to stop. Now V doesn't go around just murdering innocent people, he kills people that deserve it. At after the people at Larkhill experimented on him and other people, they deserved it. But he did it with no regret or no hesitation at all. "V, I didn't know you we going to kill him" (64). V will kill someone even if it means angering his friend. He is not afraid to kill people and will do it any means necessary.
V is not afraid of the government like most civilians are. "People shouldn't be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of their people." V in a way is one of the people so he's not afraid of the government and he's now showing them that they should be afraid of him. Another quote that shows this is,"Lewis Prothero on the other hand..." Lewis Prothero is the voice of London and is the man who makes all the decisions. He worked at Larkhill, so V kidnapped and tortured him. For him to kidnap one of the most important people in the government shows that he doesn't care if he gets caught or even killed.
V is the only one who is brave enough to stand up to the government. V is not like a normal person which is his advantage but could be his downfall. It's his downfall because him not being normal has made him miss so many things that are key to being human. Not being normal though has kept him alive in a way that he never gets attached and doesn't show feeling like fear, love, or even happiness. If it ever has happened though it is most likely an act. Something that might not ever be answered is will the people of London ever stand up for themselves or will there ever be another V?
